Lipinka: Bradlo, Hody and Trails Through the Countryside
Lipinka lies in a deeply incised basin setting on the Brabínek stream, below the rocky mountain of Bradlo. The village thus combines a distinctive landscape with lively traditions and several designated trails. For families wishing to combine outdoor activity with regional history, this creates various starting points for planning their trip.
Bradlo and the Landscape Around Lipinka
Bradlo is the highest point of the Úsovská vrchovina. From the mountain, views extend across the Jeseníky Mountains, Svatý Kopeček and Olomouc to the Mohelnicko area. On the way to Bradlo, visitors can see red deer, fallow deer and mouflon in an enclosure. The combination of the basin setting, stream and rocky mountain gives Lipinka a clearly recognizable landscape character.
Hody and Craft History
The annual Hody festival in Lipinka is celebrated on 28 September, the feast day of Saint Wenceslas. It culminates in a mass at the local chapel and attracts pilgrims from the wider surrounding area. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is a simple, yellow-plastered building with a rectangular floor plan, a semicircular apse and a small bell tower.
The local craft history is also part of the village’s distinctive profile. Historical household crafts in Lipinka included the production of brooms, sieves and horse harnesses, as well as linen weaving. The sieve and rake makers from Lipinka sold their products as far as Hungary and the Balkans. The village’s history thus points not only to everyday life in the area, but also to former trade routes and sales regions.
Hiking and Cycling Around the Village
Lipinka is a popular destination for hiking and cycling trips. A blue-marked hiking trail runs through the village from Úsov via Bradlo and Libina to Velké Losiny. From the Lipinka municipality side, Bradlo can be reached on foot via red- and blue-marked hiking trails; bicycles must be pushed along the way.
Two long-distance cycling routes pass through Lipinka: Long-Distance Cycling Route 6031 runs along the Úsov–Klopina–Veleboř–Nová Hradečná–Troubelice route, while Long-Distance Cycling Route 6050 passes through the village between Kamenná and Nedvězí. In addition, the cycling excursion route “Výlet plný pověstí” passes through Lipinka and continues towards Nová Hradečná. The different sequences of villages make it possible to plan a cycling trip according to the direction and desired route. The two long-distance cycling routes and the excursion route therefore offer various options for planning the day.
