Discover Strukov: Village Culture, Landscape and Tradition

Strukov combines a lowland landscape shaped by drained ponds with a distinctive village square, a characteristic streetscape and the Teplička stream. The stream flows through Strukov and also forms the western boundary of the village. This gives you the opportunity to explore the destination through its landscape, village history and local traditions. At the Strukov Biocenter, you can relax by the pond. The pond complements the stream with another body of water, bringing waterside recreation and village history together within the same local setting.

Village Square, Monuments and Streetscape

A statue of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of the village. The Strukov bell tower is a distinctive feature of the village square. The four-sided structure has smooth façades, a hipped roof and a cross on the roof ridge. This makes it possible to discover the village square through a clearly recognisable building and another religious statue.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is also part of the village's history. It was extensively restored in 2003. At House No. 7, the birthplace of František Hrubý, there is also a commemorative plaque. The characteristic streetscape known as “Zlatá ulička” has a distinctive name: in Strukov, small cottages alternate with somewhat larger farmsteads. This creates a small-scale streetscape that forms its own focal point alongside the open landscape and the village square.

Strukov Hody

The Strukov Hody are held regularly on the Sunday closest to 16 May, the feast of Saint John of Nepomuk. The celebration includes an outdoor church service, a procession through the village and a folk festival afterwards. This sequence combines religious customs with communal celebration and gives the event a clear structure.
