Řídeč can be reached by regular bus service from Šternberk. For further orientation, you can also consider two different route sequences. Route 6105 runs from Šternberk via Babice, Krakořice, Řídeč, Mutkov and Huzová. Route 6009 runs from Velká Bystřice via Hlubočky, Jívová, Hraniční Petrovice, Horní Loděnice, Dalov, Šternberk, Dolní Žleb, Chabičov and Řídeč to Paseka. The two routes differ in their starting and ending points as well as in their intermediate stops. This allows you to compare different regional approach directions for your travel planning.

Winter Experiences and Local History

Winter also brings its own possibilities: Cross-country skiing is possible when there is sufficient snow. Ice skating and ice hockey are played on a frozen pond in Řídeč. These activities explicitly depend on winter conditions and complement the warmer season with a different landscape experience.

One of the striking structures is the former school in Řídeč. The detached, single-storey building has a rectangular floor plan, a half-hipped roof and a hexagonal lantern. A chapel dedicated to Saint Wenceslas also stands at the upper edge of Řídeč.

A special point of cultural and historical interest is the Oltářní kámen. The large, flat slate stone lies immediately below the blue-marked hiking trail from Řídeč to Chabičov. According to an old local legend, it is associated with Celtic rituals as well as secret Protestant services during the Thirty Years' War and meetings with Wallachian rebels. In this way, a traditional story adds to the visible landscape without the stone itself having to be assigned to a single era.
