Čelechovice: History, Landscape and the Hodové Tradition

The first written mention of Čelechovice dates back to 1190. In the same year, the village was owned by the Olomouc Chapter. Landscape between Haná and the Oderské vrchy

The Chapel of St Anthony and St Vendelin stands by the road in the village centre. It dates from 1825 and was reconstructed in 2005 after a severe storm. Traditional Hodové Masses are held in the chapel. Čelechovice also has two memorial crosses. The Hodové celebrations were held from 14 to 16 June 2024, from 13 to 15 June 2025 and from 12 to 14 June 2026. Čelechovice is one of the municipalities through which the “Around the Dolek Microregion” cycling tour passes. The protected natural monument “Přírodní památka Lhotka u Přerova” is also located nearby, on steep slopes around the Olešnice stream. It protects rare xerothermic vegetation, meaning plant life adapted to warm and dry conditions.
