Church, chapel and traces of the Jesuits

The present-day Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Kokory is the second church built on this site. It has a covered staircase with 60 granite steps. This specific architectural detail connects the present-day church with the history of the town and provides a clearly recognizable reference point for viewing the building during a walk. Another cultural and historical highlight is the Baroque Chapel of St. Francis Xavier. The historic brewery in Kokory is also part of the town’s architectural history. It is one of the town’s most distinctive buildings and was built by the Jesuits in the second half of the 18th century. Together with the church and chapel, it provides another concrete point of reference for engaging with Kokory’s past. Nature trail, ponds and getting there

The “Naučná stezka kokorskými lesy” nature trail begins behind the municipal pond on the eastern edge of Kokory and leads towards the Olešnice Valley. Information boards along the trail provide information and give the route an additional thematic dimension. As a result, the focus is not only on moving through the landscape, but also on the opportunity to combine the route with learning about the surrounding area. The starting point behind the municipal pond and the direction towards the Olešnice Valley provide clear spatial orientation for experiencing the landscape.

There are ponds near the holiday-home area east of Kokory where fishing is possible. This allows different priorities to be taken into account when choosing where to stay: cultural and historical attractions in the town, or landscape and water in the east. Anyone wishing to combine different interests in one trip can regard these two areas as separate points of reference without mixing the cultural and landscape impressions.
