Nový Svět between the Nature Park and the Pond

Nový Svět was established around 1740 and is now located in the Oderské vrchy Nature Park. An extensive forest stretches south of the settlement. A pond near Nový Svět adds a body of water to the landscape. As a result, the place combines a natural setting with two clearly different natural elements: the forest lies south of the settlement, and the pond is near Nový Svět. Alongside this landscape is the history of the settlement established around 1740.

Hiking, Forest and Water

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Nový Svět. It leads from Bílovec via Výškovice and Pustá Polom to the Zátiší recreational settlement. In Nový Svět, the trail runs through the settlement; the forest lies south of it and forms a separate landscape area. When hiking, both the marked route and the location of the forest therefore form part of the spatial character of the place.

Several benches stand under trees at the pond near Nový Svět. The banks are used for recreation and relaxation. In addition to the water surface, there is therefore also a specific place to sit by the bank. Fishing competitions for the general public were also regularly held at a privately leased pond located in Nový Svět. This former use differs from the benches and banks associated with recreation and relaxation.

A Cycle Route through Nový Svět

Cycle route 6192 runs through Nový Svět along road III/46411 to Slatina. Before that, it passes through Zbyslavice, Bítov and Tísek. The route through Nový Svět therefore follows a different sequence from the hiking trail: the cycle route comes from the direction of Zbyslavice, Bítov and Tísek and continues to Slatina, while the blue-marked hiking trail runs via Bílovec, Výškovice and Pustá Polom to the Zátiší recreational settlement. Number 6192 and road III/46411 belong to the cycle connection; the blue marking belongs to the hiking route.

Local Culture and Activities

A chapel in Nový Svět is designated as a monument of local significance. The chapel and the establishment of the settlement around 1740 represent two different historical points of reference within the place.

Small-sided football can be played on a grass surface at the sports field in Nový Svět. At the Nový Svět shooting range, you can try sport shooting with air rifles and compressed-air weapons. Weapons can be rented or brought along yourself. Small-sided football and sport shooting are therefore associated with two different locations, each with its own facilities: the sports field with its grass surface, and the shooting range with air rifles and compressed-air weapons.

Orientation in the Bus Network and Further Options

Bus route 672 serves the Slatina, Nový Svět stop on the Bílovec–Slatina–Tísek–Klimkovice–Ostrava route. The connection therefore passes through several places before reaching Ostrava and connects Nový Svět to this sequence of stops via the Slatina stop. While the hiking trail and cycle route name Nový Svět as part of their respective routes, the stop belongs to the bus connection between Bílovec, Slatina, Tísek, Klimkovice and Ostrava.
