Veřovice lies on the upper reaches of the Jičínka River. The cadastral area of Veřovice includes Velký Javorník, Dlouhá and Krátká. Church, Railway and a Distinctive Local Detail

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1854 on the site of a wooden church dating from 1784. It is located at Veřovice 143, 742 73 Veřovice. Its dimensions have also been recorded with unusual precision: the church is 45 metres long, 50 metres including the sacristy, 17.5 metres wide and 35 metres high. This makes it a clearly identifiable cultural point of interest for exploring the village. A wolf sculpture also stands on the access road from Fojtství – a single, easily recognisable detail in the local landscape.

The railway is also part of Veřovice's history. The Kojetín–Ostrava railway line, which runs through Veřovice, was built in 1888. The Veřovice–Studénka connecting railway branches off in Veřovice and dates from 1896. Together with the church, these dates show how the village can be explored through its ecclesiastical architecture and transport history, without limiting the trip to a single nature theme.

At the 2024 pre-Christmas market in Veřovice, gingerbread, wreaths, candles, pretzels, baked teas, marzipan treats, dried apples and pumpkin, as well as Christmas biscuits and other original goods, were offered.
