The public park around the Hückelovy vily provides visitors with a route from Revoluční Street to Lesopark Skalky. This makes it possible to combine an architectural view of the villas with another route through public space.

Visitor centre, history and playful discoveries

Laudonův dům is the house where the Austrian field marshal Ernst Gideon von Laudon died in 1790. Since 2011, it has housed the Návštěvnické centrum. There, children and adults can play Laudoncaching, a variant of geocaching. This activity adds a playful element alongside the historical information and can appeal to families with different interests.

The Návštěvnické centrum Nový Jičín is fully accessible. There is a ramp at the main entrance; in the rear part of the building, a lift is available for people with reduced mobility and visitors with pushchairs. The Kostelní věž of the farní chrám Nanebevzetí Panny Marie is also a distinctive point of reference for orientation in the historic surroundings: the Renaissance prism tower was built at the end of the 16th century and is 66 metres high, including its dome.

The “Koleje” cycling route is an easy route with only slight inclines and is also suitable for families with children. It therefore offers a different way to spend your stay than an exclusively cultural and historical walking tour.
