Dětřichov – History in the Valley at the Jizera Mountains

Dětřichov combines a waterside setting with an unusually large number of visible traces of its local history. The village lies on the Oleška in a valley at the western tip of the Jizera Mountains. Preibische mechanical weaving mill. Of the former weaving mill, the tallest of the three factory chimneys has survived; it is 65 meters high. Traces of the Narrow-Gauge Railway

Dětřichov’s railway history can also be traced concretely. The Heřmaničky narrow-gauge railway connected Dětřichov with Frýdlant and Kunratice. Part of this narrow-gauge railway line has been preserved below the Dětřichov cemetery near house number 223. This gives visitors two different historical perspectives when exploring the village: the former connection places Dětřichov in a regional context, while the preserved section of track is a specific local testimony. These are historical traces; their existence does not imply anything about current railway operations.
