Ebmeth: Rovná, Local History and Mining Culture

Ebmeth is a place whose history can be traced through two names and several settlement phases. The Czech name Rovná was introduced in 1947 from the German name Ebmeth. The original settlement of Rovná lay west of the present-day settlement and extended along the road to Kostelní Bříza. Rovná was founded around the middle of the 14th century by German settlers. It is regarded as a unique example of mining culture and the mining skills of earlier generations.
