Discover Zábrodí

Zábrodí is a destination for anyone who wants to combine landscapes, trails and small cultural and historical discoveries. If you are looking for accommodation for your stay, the area offers a range of points of interest: forests lie nearby, relatively flat agricultural land stretches east of Zábrodí, and from there you can see across the border into the Kłodzko region. Looking south, you can see Náchod Castle and Dobrošov Mountain. The open eastern side and the wooded surroundings create a clear contrast, complemented by the southern views of Náchod Castle and Dobrošov.

Brodský Pond and Trails through the Landscape

One prominent point of reference is Brodský Pond. It lies in the cadastral area of Zábrodí and covers just under 16 hectares. The recreational area by the pond includes a small rope centre, a fairytale trail with wooden sculptures and a children's playground. Several differently designed attractions are therefore located side by side at the pond: physical activity at the rope centre, a storytelling trail with wooden sculptures and free play on the playground. Families thus have specific options for a varied stay, while the pond itself forms one of the area's key landscape features.

There are also two different options for walks and hikes. A blue-marked hiking trail from Zábrodí and Horní Rybníky leads through the Špinka stream valley into the Úpa valley. A yellow-marked hiking trail begins at the campsite by Brodský Pond and leads towards the Úpa valley. The two trails described here therefore start at different points: one connects Zábrodí and Horní Rybníky with the valleys, while the other starts at Brodský Pond.

Anyone wishing to explore the surrounding area by bicycle will find a direct connection between Zábrodí, Červený Kostelec, Kramolna and Náchod on KČT cycling route 4095. For cyclists, this creates a different route from the two hiking trails: instead of leading into the Špinka and Úpa valleys, it connects several towns and villages. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore consider whether you want to spend your stay mainly by the pond, along the marked trails, or focusing on cycling trips and views. An additional point of orientation is the view south towards Náchod Castle and Dobrošov Mountain.

Cultural and Historical Traces in Zábrodí

Alongside its landscapes and opportunities for outdoor activities, Zábrodí also preserves visible historical connections. The village became part of the Náchod estate in 1582. The Monument to the Fallen Heroes in Zábrodí was unveiled on 17 August 1924. In addition, the Holy Trinity group and the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Zábrodí have been restored. These restored works of art introduce religious motifs into the village's history: the Holy Trinity group and the statue dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. These individual memorials add a cultural dimension to a stay without requiring you to lose sight of the area's natural surroundings.
