Chlivce – Bunkers, Mountains and Cycling Route
Chlivce combines impressive traces of the Czechoslovak border fortifications with distinctive natural features and a clearly described cycling route.
Historical traces around Chlívce
The T-S 19 Turov infantry bunker is located on the road between Stárkov and Červený Kostelec. Together with T-S 20 “Na Pláni”, it formed the Chlívce defensive line. T-S 19 has been open to the public since 2009. There, you can see reconstructed details, historical photographs, a cross-sectional model and a relief map of the area surrounding the bunker.
The T-S 20 “Na Pláni” infantry bunker is part of the Chlívce defensive line at the foot of the Jestřebí Mountains. The bunker houses an exhibition about the Czechoslovak legionnaires in Italy, the events of 1938 in the Broumovsko region and Jiří Potůček, the radio operator of the SILVER A parachute group.
The location of T-S 20 is also described precisely to help you find your way on site: The bunker lies above Chlívce on a green-marked hiking trail, about 100 m from the road to Červený Kostelec. The Uzávěr Chlívce educational trail provides information in the Hronov area about surviving remains of the Czechoslovak border fortifications from the period before the Second World War.
