Discover Lodín: Water, Nature and Cycling Trails
Water Attractions at Koupaliště Lodín
Lodín combines a variety of water attractions with ponds, forest and a landscape that can be explored along marked cycling routes. A particular attraction is Koupaliště Lodín. It features a children’s paddling pool with a slide and misting system. The leisure pool includes massage showers and a whirlpool. There is also a two-lane slide and a 102-metre-long water slide. The latter has a landing pool with a depth of 110 centimetres. This gives you and your family a choice of different water areas, without limiting your stay to just one type of pool.Ponds, Educational Trail and Landscape
Water is also a defining feature outside Koupaliště. The extensive Močidlo and Homoláč ponds are located in the cadastral area of the municipality of Lodín. The educational trail in Lodín runs around Močidlo Pond. Its stations provide information about the jumping distances of various animals, their tracks and the trees in the surrounding area. It also covers fish, birds and the water cycle. The educational trail thus combines several nature-related topics around a specific body of water and offers a different way of getting to know the surroundings than simply passing through them on a cycling route. Lodín is surrounded by woodland complexes on three sides. For further geographical and natural context, the site of community importance Nechanice–Lodín (CZ0520030) is also relevant. It consists of three separate areas west of Nechanice and covers a total of 1,562.6 hectares. This precise structure distinguishes the site from a single continuous landscape area and also makes the designation interesting to visitors who wish to deliberately include natural and protected areas in their travels through the Czech Republic. Two Marked Regional Cycling Routes
Two marked regional cycling routes are central to an active day in Lodín. Cycling route No. 181 runs via Stěžery, Hrádek, Nechanice, Lodín, Petrovice, Myštěves and Chomutice. Cycling route No. 4286 runs via Skřivany, Janatov, Lodín, Suchá and Všestary. The different sequences of stops give you two documented directions for planning your journey: The first route connects Lodín with, among others, Nechanice and Petrovice, while the second approaches via Skřivany and Janatov and then continues via Suchá and Všestary.Local History and Visible Memorials
Lodín also has several cultural points of interest. A monumental memorial to the victims of both world wars stands in the village square. There is also a statue of the Madonna at the crossroads leading towards Petrovice. A historical trace is already contained in the name: Lodín is associated with the designation Lodyně, to which the years 1068 and 1126 are linked. In this way, present-day water and nature experiences meet visible memorials and an inherited history of the name. The water, nature and cycling experiences make Lodín a place with a variety of reasons to visit and explore the surrounding area for yourself.
