The complex includes a rectangular nave, a pentagonal presbytery and a square sacristy attached to the north side. These clearly articulated structural elements give the church its distinctive architectural character and make a visit a fitting addition to a day spent on the hiking trails.

The Areál kostela sv. Jakuba is included in the register of immovable cultural monuments in Předměřice nad Jizerou. The historic character of the village is complemented by the Inundační most, a protected technical structure from the first half of the 19th century.
