The Na Slovance bell tower is late Baroque and dates from 1802. The statue of Saint John Nepomuk dates approximately from the second half of the 18th century. Archaeological finds from the Neolithic period, the Únětice culture, and the 8th to 9th centuries have also been documented in Kněževes. The town's history therefore extends from early settlement periods to the Baroque forms of the gate, tower, and statue. Architectural details can be examined at the Baroque gate, while the bell tower and statue complement the late Baroque period of the town's history. The archaeological finds broaden this perspective to include considerably older settlement periods.

Chapel, Fortress, and Rediscovered Paintings

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas was built in 1736 using funds from the Saint Wenceslas Jesuit Seminary in Prague. In 1882, it was extended and restored, acquiring its present pseudo-Romanesque appearance at that time. During restoration work in 2014, wall paintings from 1904 were discovered and restored. The chapel thus combines its 18th-century construction date with later alterations and the restored paintings. The fortress of Kněževes provides another historical reference: it was first mentioned in 1383 and no longer existed in 1575. The annual Svatováclavské posvícení adds a recurring cultural occasion to the historical monuments of Kněževes. As a result, preserved architectural forms, archaeological traces, a vanished fortress, and an annual recurring event stand side by side in Knezeves.
