Forest Educational Trail and Nature Paths

The Lesní naučná stezka Dřísy begins at the edge of the forest behind the football pitch. The educational trail is 1.3 km long and has ten stations with twelve elements covering the topic of forestry. At Kozí plácek, there is a rest area where you can relax or have a refreshment. The clearly measured route and the stations provide specific orientation when you want to include a section in nature in your day’s plans. With its manageable length, the trail can be scheduled as a clearly defined nature section in your day. The stations structure the route, while the focus on forestry concentrates the nature section thematically on the forest and its management.

Vineyard and Historic Connection

The Svatováclavská Vineyard is located in the municipality of Dřísy and still bears the name of Saint Wenceslas. The area along the historic connection to the Svatováclavská Vineyard invites you to go walking and cycling. There, you will find beautiful nature, peace and unobstructed views across the surrounding countryside. The municipality’s aim was to restore this historic connection. It leads from the statue of Saint Wenceslas via the niche chapel of Saint Ludmila to the Baroque Chapel of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist at the foot of Cecemín. This creates two adjoining focal points: the vineyard and the expansive surroundings shape the landscape impression, while the historic connection links the statue and chapels into a sequence of sites of cultural and historical significance.

Chapels and Ecclesiastical Local History

The Chapel of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist is currently designated as a national cultural monument. Restoration work was completed in 2002; the chapel was reconsecrated that year. Its design is unusually clear: it is a central octagonal chapel with a mansard roof and an octagonal copper-clad lantern. The octagonal form continues from the main structure through to the lantern, making the roof and its superstructure appear as unified design elements. The niche chapel of Saint Ludmila is connected to this Baroque chapel by a historic pilgrimage route; the route then continues to it.

Another chapel stands in the center of Dřísy: the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk has a brick tower dating from 1837. The statue of Saint Wenceslas, which is associated with Dřísy, also tells a special story. It depicts the saint crushing grapes with a wooden pestle in a wooden vat and is listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments.
