Jevany between Water, Beech Forest and History

Jevany combines a lake used in summer with protected natural areas and unusually dense historical traces. Jevanský rybník as a Focal Point for Days by the Water

Jevanský rybník is the largest local body of water and covers 17.62 ha. In summer, it is used for recreation. Swimming is possible there without organized facilities; grassy shores and a sandy entry into the water are part of the lake’s described character. Rowing boats, canoes, surfboards, pedal boats and paddleboards can once again be seen on Jevanský rybník. When planning, this allows you to distinguish between quiet hours on the shore and a visible variety of activities on the water, without limiting the lake to just one use.

Protected Landscape around Jevany

The cadastral area of Jevany includes part of the Voděradské bučiny Nature Reserve. Voděradské bučiny is designated as a national nature reserve; its purpose is to protect an extensive beech forest. The Šáchovec locality is also noteworthy for visitors interested in nature. It comprises a waterlogged sedge meadow with tussocks as well as submerged aquatic vegetation. Thus, the range of landscapes extends from a large body of water to special wetland habitats and an extensive beech forest.

Šáchovec can be reached via the red-marked hiking trail from Kostelec nad Černými lesy to Senohraby. Aldašín and Jevany’s Historical Signs

Aldašín lies within the cadastral area of Jevany and is an important archaeological locality. The combination of former settlement structures, traces of medieval roads and sacred architecture makes Aldašín a distinct focus for your tour of discovery.

There is also a striking historical detail in the centre of Jevany: The bell tower was built in 1897 and is considered one of the town’s symbols. Together with the church in Aldašín and the preserved traces of the former settlement area, it offers a cultural perspective on Jevany that extends beyond the landscape around the lake.
