Vidče combines a landscape predominantly shaped by pastureland with notable evidence of regional culture. Cultural monuments with a history of their own

One particularly characteristic building is the wooden bell tower of Vidče, a timber-framed folk structure. It is considered the oldest cultural monument in the municipality. Its dating is linked to a specific tradition: according to the year inscribed on a beam, the bell tower dates from 1812. It is precisely this combination of construction method, local significance and visible dating that makes it an independent cultural point of interest.

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius represents another architectural chapter. It is a valuable example of Neo-Gothic architecture and was built between 1908 and 1914. Vidče thus brings together two different historical forms of expression: the folk wooden construction of the bell tower and the Neo-Gothic design of the church.

The cultural identity of the place also includes the Valašenka children's folk ensemble, which was founded in 1953. Valašenka compiled ethnographic programs depicting life in a Wallachian village from spring through winter. The cultural picture therefore extends from visible monuments to representations of regional ways of life and traditions.

Pastureland, a stream and mountain views

The landscape of Vidče consists predominantly of pastureland and gives the place a distinct character. The local water network includes the Maretka stream, which flows into the Bečva River. Videčské paseky is also important for orientation within the municipality: at 597 meters, it is the highest point in Vidče.

The area around Vidče offers views of the Veřovické vrchy, Vsacké vrchy and Hostýnské vrchy mountain ranges, particularly Radhošť. The landscape can therefore be experienced not only directly in the village, but also in relation to the surrounding mountain ranges.

Nature trail, cycle path and winter cross-country ski trails

A cycle touring route passes through Vidče. The Hradisko nature trail also runs through the village. It provides historical and natural-history information about important areas of the protected Beskydy Landscape Area. Those who want to combine active exploration with informative discoveries will therefore find two clearly different route options here: the cycle touring route represents travel by bicycle, while the nature trail focuses on historical and natural-history topics.

The season also changes the possible areas of focus. In winter, several easy, well-maintained cross-country ski trails can be used in Vidče. In addition to the cultural monuments and views, an explicitly winter activity is therefore also among the documented features of the place.
