Discover Francova Lhota
Francova Lhota combines protected rocky landscapes, trails across the Javorníky Mountains and living Wallachian customs. Francova Lhota is also an excellent starting point for stages along the Javorníky ridge and towards the White Carpathians.
Rocky Landscape and Nature Reserve
The Pulčín-Hradisko NPR is a national nature reserve. It protects important rock formations as well as forests with a naturally composed species structure. The most striking landscape features include the Pulčínské skály, which consist of five rock groups. The area therefore offers not only a distinctive backdrop, but also various opportunities for nature experiences and views. A special feature is the colourful icefalls in the Pulčín-Hradisko NPR. They can be reached via a seasonally marked trail from the information centre in Pulčín. The Trtol rock formation offers a view of the valley. Anyone looking for a characteristic tree as a destination can visit the Kobzova lípa, a memorial tree 26 m tall with a trunk circumference of 760 cm. When visiting the protected area, the applicable trail layout must be observed: outside marked hiking trails, access to the Pulčín-Hradisko NPR is prohibited by law. The marked trails therefore provide the required guidance through the area.Views, Educational Trail and Cycling Route
The lookout tower on Čubův kopec is freely accessible. The wooden tower is 16 m high and has four storeys. Together with the view from Trtol, it offers two differently characterised perspectives on the landscape. An educational trail leads through Francova Lhota and over the Javorníky ridge. Along the way, there are views as well as information about the landscape and Wallachian history. For cyclists, a route connects the municipalities of the Hornolidečsko microregion in two loops. It is over 50 km long and expands the ways to explore the region—not only along a single route, but in two circuits.Wallachian Traditions Throughout the Year
The events calendar also shapes the character of Francova Lhota. Traditional Fašank processions take place every year on the weekend before Ash Wednesday. The two-day Fašank procession through the municipality ends at the local cultural centre with the burial of the bass. In December, processions by a St. Nicholas group also take place; these are particularly typical of southern Wallachia.Orientation in Pulčín
The building of the former school in the centre of the Pulčín settlement provides information about local attractions and tips for excursions. Souvenirs, showers and other services for tourists are also available there. This information point therefore combines practical orientation with advice for exploring the surrounding area. If you choose Francova Lhota as a base for stages across the Javorníky Mountains or towards the White Carpathians, the landscape takes centre stage.More Places for Planning Your Trip
