Třebětice: Church, Monuments and Landscape

Church and Village Green

The Kostel svatého Vendelína dates from 1794 and represents a transition to Classicism. The detached single-nave building comprises a presbytery, a nave, a sacristy and a tower. A single-nave building has one nave; the presbytery and sacristy designate additional structural parts, while the tower completes the building. Since 3 May 1958, the church has been registered as a cultural monument; its registration number is 21820/7-6176. More than 160 years lie between 1794 and 1958.

Next to the church, on the village green within the built-up area, stands a monument to those who fell in the First World War. It was erected in 1920 and features a two-metre-high obelisk made of Bohemian syenite. A bronze depiction of Christ's head with a crown of thorns is mounted on it. The Socha svatého Josefa, a stone statue, also stands on the village green. It was moved here from a field path behind the village and restored in 1999.

Chapels and Memorial Sites Along the Roads

The Výklenková kaplička v poli stands in the fields beside a field path towards Hulín. The three-sided, rendered structure dates from the 18th century and has a niche on each side. The chapel underwent complete restoration in 2021. Its location in the fields makes it a separate destination away from the village green.

Before Třebětice, at the junction of the Holešov–Třebětice–Količín roads near a bus stop, stands the Památník zastřelených. The site consists of a granite slab on an elongated base and an obelisk set up beside it. The slab rests on the base, while the obelisk stands immediately next to it. The site was completely restored after 2015.

Tree, Water and the Route to Námezník

A notable natural feature is the Buk u mlýna on plot 346 in the cadastral area of Třebětice, near the former Čmelov Mill No. 32. The beech is 20 metres tall, its crown measures 22 metres, and its trunk circumference is 381 centimetres. Its age is estimated at 150 years. Its location, height, crown dimensions and trunk circumference make the tree a clearly described landscape feature.

The Žabínek flows through the administrative area of Třebětice; near Hulín, it flows into the Rusava. Námezník lies in a wooded area at the confluence of the Mlýnský náhon and the Rusava. It can be reached from Třebětice by following the mill channel. This makes it possible to distinguish the river course, the mill channel and the location of Námezník as separate water-related features of the village area.
