Between the Hostýnské vrchy and the Castle Park

Přílepy lies at the wooded foot of the Hostýnské vrchy and combines experiences in nature with a remarkable ensemble of historic monuments. This creates a destination where walks, marked hiking trails, a historic castle area and summer recreation by the water are closely connected with the character of the village. When looking for accommodation, you can therefore first decide whether you want to focus your stay primarily on landscape and activity, on culture, or on a combination of both.

Castle Park and Historic Monument Ensemble

The historic monument ensemble of Přílepy consists of the castle, the adjacent park and the more distant Chapel of Our Lady of Svatý Hostýn. The Castle Park is accessible year-round for walks and recreation. Its paths lead through larger lawns and between individual and group-planted coniferous and deciduous trees. This gives it its own, quieter form of exploring the village, independent of a longer hike.

The ensemble includes architecturally valuable buildings from the mid-19th century in the Neo-Gothic style. The construction of the castle marks a clear historical turning point: in 1852, the old fortress of Přílepy, dating from 1628, was demolished and a castle was built in its place. The Chapel of Our Lady of Svatý Hostýn also forms part of the living history of the village; it is maintained by the municipality and local residents.

Hiking Routes with Different Destinations

The marked Přílepy–Hrad–Žopy route begins at the lower bus stop. It leads uphill across the village square to the forest chapel and then through the forest via Křížnice and Ploština to the Hrad trail junction. The route thus combines a clear starting point in the village with forest sections and the Hrad trail junction in higher terrain. The summit of Hrad lies at 560 metres above sea level; large rocks and a camping site are located there.

A second option is the Přílepy–Křídlo–Hlinsko pod Hostýnem (Rusava) route. It runs entirely along the blue-marked hiking trail. Křídlo, a castle ruin in a beech forest, lies along this route. Those who would rather include a historic ruin than the summit of Hrad in their day’s itinerary will therefore find a different focus here.

Water, Cycling and Further Connections

A reservoir lies on the Mojena stream; it has served recreational purposes since 2001 and is frequently used for swimming during the summer months. This location thus complements the hiking and cultural destinations with an explicitly seasonal connection to the water. Another way to explore Přílepy is the Holešov–Rusava cycle route, which passes through Přílepy and then returns to Holešov. There is also a bus connection from Rusava to Holešov.
