Discover Kamenná and Jihlava

Kamenná combines a valley landscape with a range of different ways to experience the area. The municipality is located in the Hornosázavská pahorkatina upland region, in the valley of the Zlatý potok stream. There are three smaller ponds directly in Kamenná, while Žižkův kopec dominates the village. This landscape, the paths and the historic traces provide different starting points for your stay in Kamenná.

Hiking and cycling around Kamenná

A blue-marked hiking trail from Jihlava to Přibyslav runs through Kamenná. The route places the village within a regional network of trails and provides a concrete starting point for anyone who wants to spend their time in the Czech Republic on foot. Cycle route No. 4335 runs from Dobronín to Přibyslav through the village, complementing the marked hiking trail with a cycling route.

Another connection with hiking is the “Kamenské aleje” event, organised by KČT Kamenná. The “Kamenské aleje” event began on 4 July 2026 at Žižkův kopec and ended there.

Historic traces at Žižkův kopec

Žižkův kopec is not only a distinctive landscape feature. The small castle complex has a central circular platform with a diameter of approximately 21 metres. Žižkův kopec is therefore a destination for visitors interested in nature and history. The paths through Kamenná offer another starting point for exploring the area.

You will also find several individual traces of the past in the village itself. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1748. Kamenná is also home to a chapel dedicated to the saint, dating from 1873. A monument erected in the 1930s commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars as well as the expulsion of the Germans. These various memorials and religious buildings belong to different periods and relate to different themes, so they should be viewed as individual stops in the history of the village.

Winter and horse-riding experiences

In winter, cross-country skiing is available in Kamenná. The cold season thus complements the offerings of the other months with a Nordic activity, without implying any particular snow reliability. In addition, two riding stables in Kamenná offer riding lessons and make horseback rides possible. You can therefore choose between a supervised riding session and a horseback ride, provided this fits into your stay plans.
