Discover Hostětice

Hostětice combines a well-documented history with a varied landscape between cultivated land, forest and gently rolling terrain. This creates a destination where historical traces, nature observations, and hiking and cycling experiences can be explored from different perspectives. Particularly interesting is the contrast between the regional history around Telč and the landscape at the transition to the Javořická vrchovina.

Landscape between cultivated land and forest

The landscape around Hostětice lies in the transitional area between the agricultural cultural landscape of the Telčská kotlina and the compact, forested ridge of the Javořická vrchovina. Woodland, meadows and gradually rising, gently rolling terrain shape this impression. As a result, the surroundings do not have a uniform character: open areas meet wooded structures, while the landscape also tells the story of its agricultural character. One specific natural feature is Částkovická pastvina. It is registered as an important landscape element and consists of short-stemmed grassland where endangered plant species occur. The site therefore represents not only a landscape setting but also a botanically interesting feature that provides a closer description of the natural area around Hostětice.

Historical traces and local features

Hostětice has been mentioned in written sources since 1366 as part of the Telč estate. Until 1849, the village remained part of the Telč domain. This long connection places Hostětice within the historical development of the Telč area, without reducing the character of the village to a single historic building. The chapel in Hostětice is also part of the local history. It dates from the 1950s and was consecrated at that time. In the summer and autumn of 2019, it was renovated into its present form. At Pohl Villa, an access avenue and an extensive garden have been preserved to this day. The so-called Hostětické třešně are also associated with the period of the historic orchard at the villa. This name connects the villa with a local orchard history that extends beyond the building's history alone.

Hiking and cycling with various route connections

A marked hiking trail runs through Hostětice from Telč via Lhotka to Štamberk and the kamenné moře. The marked cycling route 1113 leads from Telč through Hostětice towards Mrákotín and Světlá. On the return journey to Telč, cycling route 5124 runs through Lhotka, Částkovice and Hostětice; it then continues to Telč on cycling route 1113. In addition, the Telč–Lipky cycle path connects at Lipky to existing routes linking Hostětice and Vanov. A new cycle path is also in operation in Hostětice.
