Tisá combines striking sandstone rock formations, protected nature and trails with regional history. If you would like to choose between an easy walk, distinctive landscapes and cultural discoveries for your family, Tisá and the surrounding area offer a range of options for planning your trip. The highlights range from short walks and a long-distance hiking trail to climbing areas, historic buildings and regional specialities.

Rocks and trails for different days

Tiské stěny is a protected natural monument. It preserves a geomorphologically valuable rock city of great aesthetic significance, formed from Upper Cretaceous block sandstone, as well as fragments of near-natural ecosystems. The rock city therefore combines impressive landscape structures with a protected natural area. In this context, geomorphological refers to the particular significance of the resulting rock formations and landscape structures.

For a manageable hike, the Selská stezka is a good option: the easy 2.5-kilometre circular trail is also suitable for families with children. Its length makes it a clearly defined option for an outing, without equating it with a longer hike. The Naučná stezka Tiské stěny educational trail explains the history of tourism and climbing in the sandstone areas. This allows you to combine a hike with an insight into how this landscape developed as a destination.

Protected landscapes and climbing areas

The Rájecká rašeliniště protected area was designated in 2004 and protects peatland vegetation communities containing elements of botanical-geographical significance in the cadastral area of Tisá. In addition to the rock landscape, the region's natural attractions therefore also include a peatland area.

There are several significant climbing areas in the Tisá region: Tiské stěny, Ostrov, Rájec and Děčínský Sněžník. Climbing and hiking are therefore present as distinct types of experience. The E3 European long-distance path runs through Tisá and complements the shorter Selská stezka with a much more extensive hiking connection. Depending on the desired length of your day, you can therefore choose between an easy circular trail, an educational trail and a long-distance hiking stage.

Culture and regional history

Kostel sv. Anny is a late Baroque single-nave church with a polygonally closed presbytery and a side sacristy, dating from 1789. Its architectural form and date of construction give the trip a historical dimension alongside nature and outdoor activities. Another local speciality is the decorative buttons from Tisá: at the beginning of the 19th century, they could be found in Prague, Berlin, Paris and Milan. The buttons complement the architectural history with a regional example from craft and economic life.

In the wider regional surroundings of Tisá, Hrad Střekov is a castle; Wittigschloß is also a castle in this wider regional area. Hrad Kysperk is a castle ruin in the vicinity of Tisá.
