The history of the village dates back to the Middle Ages. Veverské Knínice are first mentioned in a document issued in Znojmo on 31 October 1234, confirming the possessions and privileges of the Porta Coeli monastery. Veverské Knínice were also subject to the Porta Coeli monastery economically. Historically, the village was known as Německé Kněnice; it also had certain obligations towards the lordly Veveří Castle. The individual monuments and historical references thus give your stay several layers of history without requiring you to limit yourself to a single building.

The cultural life also includes an amateur theatre group. At the documented point in time, it had been active for 32 years and was preparing its 30th premiere for Saturday, 4 March. This detail complements the stone monuments with a local tradition of communal cultural life.
