Kuničky – Chapel, Cycling Routes and Landscape

Kuničky combines village history with forest paths, expansive views and waterside destinations. A small chapel stands on the village square in Kuničky. It was built in 1868 and dedicated to Cyril and Methodius. It replaced an earlier wooden bell tower and was decorated with images of the Slavic apostles and Saint Florian. The site thus tells not only of a year of construction, but also of the village’s religious tradition.

Another historical highlight lies outside the village square: the ruins of Doubravice Castle are located in the forest between Kuničky and Doubravice nad Svitavou. This creates a clear contrast for your trip planning with the chapel in the village: here, a single sacred building is the focus, while there, a castle complex stands in a wooded setting.

Viewpoints and Babylon Hill

At the eastern edge of Kuničky, views open out towards Černá Hora, the Chlumy hills near Obora, and the Kunštátsko and Olešnicko areas. The Bohemian-Moravian Highlands can be seen in the background. This viewpoint connects several landscape regions and gives the edge of the village a broad outlook.

Babylon Hill lies in the forests north of Kuničky, towards Němčice and Újezd u Boskovic. At 663 m, it is the highest elevation in the landscape. Cycling Routes in Various Directions

Cycling route 5203 begins on the village square in Kuničky. It leads along a forest path to Újezd u Boskovic and then through the Pilské údolí valley towards Boskovice.

A second option is cycling route 5204. It leads from Huť sv. Antonie via Obora and Doubravice nad Svitavou to Kuničky and then towards Němčice. Compared with route 5203, Kuničky lies on a different connection here and is reached from the direction of Huť sv. Antonie, Obora and Doubravice nad Svitavou.

Water Destinations Between Village and Forest

The Pod Krátkou water reservoir between Kuničky and Doubravice nad Svitavou is used for swimming. The 0.5-hectare fishing water called Pod Kuničkami (Pod krátkou) is also located in the cadastral areas of Kuničky and Doubravice nad Svitavou. For travel planning, these two details can be considered separately: the reservoir is described as a swimming destination, while the fishing water is characterized primarily by its area and cadastral location.

The U Holešínky spring is one of the natural destinations in the cadastral area of Kuničky. It can be reached by bicycle along a path with some effort. From Kuničky, take cycling route 5203 towards Boskovice; after entering the forest, the spring is approximately 25 m away on the right, between the path and the Nesůvka stream. The approximate distance of 25 m explicitly refers to the section after entering the forest.
