Discover Kuřimská Nová Ves
Kuřimská Nová Ves offers several very different reasons to plan a stay: a distinctive church building, protected meadow landscapes and recurring events at the sports complex. This allows visitors to get to know the village through its culture as well as its nature and community experiences.
Church, Cemetery and Ancient Memorial Lime Trees
The defining landmark of Kuřimská Nová Ves is the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua. It dates from 1937 and provides the village with a clear cultural focal point. A cemetery adjoins the church, meaning that the ensemble is notable not only as a single building but also as a distinctive part of the village landscape.
There are also two approximately 300-year-old memorial lime trees by the church. Their history therefore reaches significantly further back than the construction of the church. Those interested in regional village landscapes, sacred architecture and places of living memory shaped over time will find several visible historical layers in one location.
Pláně: Nature Reserve with Far-Reaching Views
The Pláně nature reserve lies within the cadastral area of Kuřimská Nová Ves. It is classified as IUCN Category IV, meaning an area managed for the conservation of habitats and species. This designation describes a landscape in which the preservation of particular communities of organisms and their species is the focus.
Protected and endangered plant and animal species occur in Pláně. It is also home to nearly all typical meadow species as well as numerous junipers. This means that the focus is not merely on a general natural setting, but on a specifically described combination of meadow vegetation, biodiversity and characteristic woody plants.
In good visibility, views extend across the wider surrounding area. This complements the natural aspect with a landscape experience that is particularly interesting for visitors who are not looking exclusively for cultural attractions during their trip.
Cross-Country Race and Summer Events
A sporting highlight of the village is the Antonínský Kros, a recurring cross-country race. The 10th edition was scheduled for Saturday, 13 June 2026, at the sports complex of the municipality of Kuřimská Nová Ves. The main course runs along forest and field roads or trails and has an elevation gain of 117 m. The race is therefore clearly described as a trail event based on its route and specific elevation profile.
The sports complex is also a venue for various cultural events in summer. Depending on when you travel, you can therefore get to know Kuřimská Nová Ves not only through its church and the Pláně nature reserve, but also through the local events calendar. When searching for a hotel in Kuřimská Nová Ves, this creates a range of reasons to stay that combines culture, landscape and community events, without any single attraction defining the character of the village.
