Church, the Templar Order and Templštejn

The local history initially centers on the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It has a Romanesque core that probably dates from the second half of the 13th century. The Templar Order settled in Jamolice as early as 1232 and initially established a church with a parish there. This early connection places Jamolice within a history that began before the later castle complex.

Templštejn Castle, with an outlying fortification, was built between 1281 and 1298 and abandoned after the mid-16th century. The castle ruins are also an important archaeological site. The IDS-JMK bus route 441 is relevant for regional orientation. It connects Moravský Krumlov, Jamolice, Dukovany, Rouchovany and Hrotovice. The events programme also featured its own highlights in 2026. From 14 to 16 August 2026, the Tradiční rozmarýnové hody in Jamolice were scheduled as a music event featuring brass-band music and dancing. The Pytlácká stezka was scheduled for 29 August 2026 as a sports and active leisure event featuring archery and hiking. Both dates have already passed and should therefore be regarded as past plans, not current announcements.
