Jabloňany – Chapel, Cycling Routes and Valley Landscape

Jabloňany combines a distinctive rural cultural landscape with several cycling connections and a clearly recognizable location in the valley. The village lies between the Úmoří stream and the Svitava River, nestled between the wooded elevations of Fáberka, at 445 m, and Voskovice, at 428 m. At 445 m, Fáberka is 17 m higher than Voskovice. This makes it a destination where a cultural walk through the village, active days and views of the landscape can be combined in different ways depending on your preferred type of stay.

Cycling on three routes

Jabloňany is connected to the surrounding area by several cycling routes. Cycling Route 5201 runs from Černá Hora via Chrudichromy, Bořitov, Huť sv. Antonie, Krhov, Jabloňany, Skalice nad Svitavou and Mladkov. Jabloňany lies between Krhov and Skalice nad Svitavou. Cycling Route 5201A connects Jabloňany and Obora. The regional Cycling Route 5143 also runs through the village. For a cycling-focused stay, this provides a route running through several villages, a connection to Obora and a regional route.

Chapel and Baroque sculpture in the village centre

One of Jabloňany’s cultural focal points is the Chapel of Sts Cyril and Methodius. It stands in the middle of the village square and thus provides a clearly identifiable starting point for exploring the village. In front of the chapel is a cast-iron representation of a cross with an enclosure. A Baroque statue of St John of Nepomuk is also located there. The statue is designed as a Baroque sculpture with a volute pedestal and semi-sculptural reliefs. These specific details make the square a place where you can appreciate not only a building, but also various forms of historical design.

Traditional festival at the Luh sports complex

Another distinctive feature is the traditional cultural event Rozloučení s prázdninami, held at the Luh sports complex in Jabloňany. Rozloučení s prázdninami includes, among other things, a bouncy castle, football darts, spraying water at a target, an obstacle course, archery, car rides and horse rides. The programme therefore ranges from playful stations and sporting activities to riding- and driving-related activities. There is a bus stop with a shelter in the centre of Jabloňany. The bus stop and the chapel on the village square are therefore located in the central part of the village.
