Závraty – Chapel, Pond and Cycle Route in the Blanský les Foothills

Závraty lies beside a pond in the hilly foothills of the Blanský les Protected Landscape Area. The village combines a clearly recognizable landscape with small cultural and historical details: the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows stands on the village green. This makes it a destination where you can discover the village character, connection with nature and cycling experiences through specific points of interest.

Pond Landscape and Spring Blossoms

A characteristic landscape feature is the pond beside which Závraty lies. In spring, the trees along the Závratská apple-tree alley are in full bloom. The alley adds a seasonal aspect to the pond and the hilly foothills of the Blanský les Protected Landscape Area. A cycle tour runs from Kaliště along the green-marked Zlatá stezka trail to the wooded Závratský rybník pond. The Chapel on the Village Green

The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows stands on the village green in Závraty. It was built between 1937 and 1938 and consecrated on 18 September 1938. Its exterior features include a hexagonal tower with an open belfry, a metal-clad conical roof, a spire and an iron cross.
