Cycling and Hiking around Vidov

Cycle Route 1018 is a branch of the Vltavská cyklistická cesta cycling route. The section between České Budějovice and Cetviny is considered moderately difficult. This classification is part of the route’s character and provides concrete guidance for planning an active day without limiting the entire route to just one type of outing.

A blue hiking route that connects to a green route can also be reached from Vidov. This makes it possible to include various marked paths in your plans. The combination of the cycling route, hiking trails and the rising foothills defines Vidov more strongly than a purely urban stay.

The sports area in Vidov is freely accessible. The children’s playground includes a carousel, swings, climbing equipment, a sandbox and a rope pyramid. Football, footnet, volleyball and beach volleyball courts are available for various ball sports. Footnet requires its own net; the volleyball net is permanently installed.

The celebration includes a craft market, cabbage specialties, as well as the traditional sale of sliced cabbage and sauerkraut. At the “Komunitní knihovna Vidov” library, which has been operating since autumn 2022, discussions on various topics are held.

During the summer months, visitors can use the outdoor terrace of Hospůdka Na návsi and the adjacent children’s playground beneath the chestnut tree. These places complement the sporting and cultural offerings with a more peaceful way to experience a stay in the village.

Getting Around the Village and Further Destinations
