Village History and Chapel

The history of the village dates back at least to the Middle Ages: The settlement of Mokrý Lom belonged to the Velešín estate until 1387. A visible link to the village’s more recent history is the Mokrý Lom chapel, which dates from 1848. It was built on the village square to commemorate the abolition of corvée labour. The year 1848 and the reason for its construction give the visible building a specific historical connection. In this way, the chapel complements the themes of routes and landscape with a memorial site rooted in the village.
