Zahrádka: Discover the Village Square, Chapel and Nature

Zahrádka combines a clearly recognizable village centre with landscape experiences and small discoveries along the way. The irregularly shaped village square remains the central public space. The village square is home to the chapel dedicated to Saint John and Saint Paul. Petr Wagner had it built in 1782. The first written mention of Zahrádka dates back to 1379. The centre therefore brings together a specific 18th-century building and a much older local history.

The farmhouses also add historic details to the villagescape: Some of them retain architectural façade elements from the first third of the 20th century. On the southern edge of Zahrádka, along the road to Všeruby, there is also the former Czech minority school building. It was built in 1926. The building should therefore be understood as a former school building, not as a current school.

Water, Cycle Route and Protected Landscape

Directly opposite the chapel, on the other side of the road, lies the Zahrádka u Všerub water reservoir. This precise location makes the village square an informative starting point if you would like to consider the local history and landscape together.

Cycle route 2293 passes through Zahrádka. It connects Hůrky and Mostice, providing a clear reference point for anyone wishing to include the village in a cycling tour. On the public grounds behind the Zahrádka fire station, there is a large children's playground and an outdoor fitness area. Another distinctive feature is located at the bus stop in front of the local shop: a newly installed book box for exchanging books.
