Nezbavětice: Village Square, Úslava Valley and Cycle Route 2128
Nezbavětice combines a distinctive hillside location with small, historically significant discoveries in the village. The municipality lies on a southeastern slope overlooking the Úslava Valley. At the same time, Nezbavětice is located near the I/20 road. The view of the valley shapes the character of the location.
Around the Village Square
The village square is the most important place for historical details. A chapel with a bell tower stands here; it dates from the first half of the 19th century. It is also one of the oldest surviving buildings in Nezbavětice. A monument on the same village square commemorates those who fell in the First World War; it was erected in 1924. The two structures thus represent different chapters of the village’s history and can be viewed together during a walk.
The wayside crosses are also among the area’s special traces of the past. A stone wayside cross in Nezbavětice was rediscovered in 2024. After its restoration, it was returned to its original location in December 2024. Another wayside cross can also be found in the Pod Skalkami district. These two examples make it clear that historical reminders here are not limited to a single building but can be found in several places throughout the village.
Landscape and Discoveries for Families
Another striking feature is the commemorative tree “Sedlákovu lípu.” The tree is 250 years old and has been protected as a local landscape landmark since the 1970s. Together with the southeastern slope and the view of the Úslava Valley, it creates a landscape in which experiencing nature and local memory stand closely side by side.
Nezbavětice also has a children’s playground for families. It complements the historical and landscape impressions with a place specifically intended for children. Those who value accommodation where, alongside excursion destinations, a small network of discoveries is available directly at their place of stay will therefore find a concrete starting point for their further search here.
Sporting Event and Cycle Route
Cycle Route 2128 runs through Nezbavětice. Cyclists can therefore include the village in their tour planning without needing to assume a specific route length or a particular destination outside the village. Alongside the village square and the valley view, the cycle route provides another way to experience Nezbavětice actively.
A dedicated event highlight is the Memoriál Miloslava Sedláka, a competition in fire sports. The 19th edition was announced for 2026. It was scheduled to take place on 15 August 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with the football pitch in Nezbavětice as the venue. The event is therefore one of the village’s clearly identifiable sporting occasions, while the chapel, wayside crosses and commemorative tree represent its historical and landscape character.
