Štichovice lies in the landscape along the middle course of the Střela, 5 km east of Manětín, at an elevation of 458 m. In the first half of the 15th century, the village appears among the possessions of the Order of Saint John in Manětín. A small village chapel dating from the beginning of the 19th century forms part of the village landscape. It has a three-sided apse, a low triangular gable with a sundial and a small roof turret on the ridge. Another prominent landmark is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Its construction dates back to the 14th century, and it was extensively remodelled in the 17th century.

Štichovice and its surroundings contain numerous crosses, regularly renewed wooden crosses and small stone monuments. Most of the monuments remain at their original locations and are maintained by volunteers from the village. As a result, historical traces can be encountered not only in individual religious buildings, but also in smaller forms within and beyond the village.

A particularly precisely locatable example is the stone wayside shrine southwest of the village green. It stands on the right-hand side of the road leading from the village towards the so-called New Road to Manětín. The year 1721 is engraved on its base. The wayside shrine consists of a sandstone cross on a cylindrical column and a rectangular base. During a stay in Štichovice, this combination of village green, chapel, church and wayside shrine offers a cultural perspective, while the nature park provides the contrasting landscape setting.
