Sebranice

Sebranice combines brief cultural encounters with paths through a varied landscape. An 8.5 km educational trail leads through the history and present of the village. In addition, there are the partly Gothic and partly simple Renaissance elements of St. Nicholas Church, protected natural areas near Vysoký Les and a range of activities at the outdoor swimming pool. This allows you to shape your stay around local history, nature observation and sporting activities.

Educational trails between history, chapels and nature

The 6 km educational trail “Renewal of the Chapels in Vysoký Les” is particularly varied. It focuses on the reconstruction of chapels, old paths and stories from the surrounding area. The route leads to the Schlesinger Chapel, a spring and the protected natural monument “Sněženky ve Vysokém lese”; most of it can be travelled by bicycle. This makes it possible to combine the historical and scenic aspects of the area along one route, without having to explore the individual themes on separate excursions.

The longer educational trail “Sebranice in History and the Present” is 8.5 km long and has a different focus: here, the village itself, its development and its present-day character are at the centre. Those who prefer to seek out individual points of interest will find the protected natural monument “Sněženky ve Vysokém lese” near the hamlet of Vysoký Les. The “V bukách” nature reserve is also located in the same area. The sycamore maple in Třemošná is designated as a memorial tree.

Culture and special local details

In Sebranice, it is worth taking a look at St. Nicholas Church, whose design combines Gothic and simple Renaissance elements. The railway monument is another unusual feature: it includes a functioning 4.15 m-long section of track. History also comes alive at the “Živý obraz u kolejí” event, held annually on St. Wenceslas Day. Under a lime tree, people dressed in clothing from the First Republic period come together and create a living tableau in the landscape.

The landscape also has its own distinctive features. The Jalový potok stream and its spring-fed surroundings provide suitable habitat for plants and animals of wet meadows and woodland edges. Toulovcova kašna stands at an abundant water source and is supplied year-round with clear, though iron-rich, water. Such specific observations of nature give walks, in addition to the designated educational trails, a focus of their own.

Sport and overnight stays at the outdoor swimming pool

The sports complex at the outdoor swimming pool has an artificial-turf court for tennis, nohejbal, volleyball, football and speed badminton. It also includes two courts for beach volleyball and beach football. Those looking for an overnight stay in tents or caravans can stay on a meadow next to the Sebranice outdoor swimming pool. There is an electrical hookup, a restaurant and sanitary facilities. This makes the site a specific option for travellers who want to combine their stay with the sports facilities at the outdoor swimming pool.
