Čistá between the Loučná and vibrant architectural heritage
Čistá lies on both banks of the Loučná River and combines a riverside landscape with unusually tangible architectural and ecclesiastical history. Farmstead No. 171, the Parish Church of Saint Nicholas and the Vyhlídka u Fajmonovy lípy each add a distinct accent: rural structures, religious architecture and expansive views across the landscape.
A national cultural monument with preserved structural elements
Farmstead No. 171 in Čistá has been a national cultural monument since 2014. It is freely accessible year-round, with no admission fee. The farmstead preserves a smoke room dating from the 16th century and a roof structure. This roof structure is the oldest currently known surviving roof structure of a rural building. Anyone interested in historic building methods will therefore find here not just a date, but actual preserved elements of a rural building. The year-round free access can be taken into account independently of a specific travel season. The Church of Saint Nicholas
The Parish Church of Saint Nicholas also shapes Čistá’s historic profile. It was already standing in 1349. The Gothic presbytery was completed in 1583. Renaissance interior paintings have been preserved in the church, including a depiction of the Crucifixion of Christ that survives only in part. The Baroque extension began in 1740; the subsequent repairs continued until 1772. The church is registered as a cultural monument under ÚSKP number 37158/6-3032. It brings together several periods: its history reaches back to 1349; the Gothic presbytery, Renaissance paintings and Baroque extension belong to different historical layers of the building. Architecture, interior paintings and religious art therefore come together in one place.Bells, Stations of the Cross and local tradition
A Way of the Cross leads to the Church of Saint Nicholas. The bells are rung regularly in Čistá. The bell ringers of Čistá decided to bring back missing bells and revive the tradition of bell ringing. The Way of the Cross also makes the church a destination for a religious route, while the regular ringing adds an audible dimension to the church’s presence. Alongside the visible architecture, a religious tradition is therefore also part of the character of the place. For you, this may open up a different approach to the history of the locality than a visit focused exclusively on buildings and dates.Panoramic views as far as the Krkonoše
A distinctive landscape feature is the Vyhlídka u Fajmonovy lípy. It is a wooden pedestrian bridge located about four metres above the ground and offers panoramic views of the surroundings, including the panorama of the Krkonoše. The bridge thus combines a specific wooden structure with a broad landscape view: the viewpoint is elevated above the ground, while the vista opens across the surrounding area to the mountain panorama. The view therefore complements Čistá’s cultural and historical themes with an independent impression of the landscape. If you would like to combine architectural heritage and landscape during your stay, you will find two clearly distinct reasons here to get to know the place better.
