Discover Bělá U Jevíčka

Bělá U Jevíčka combines tangible evidence of local history with an educational trail, a cycling route and a small water reservoir used as a natural outdoor swimming pool. This makes it possible to discover the area in different ways: you can explore pilgrimage traditions and monuments, gather information along the way or plan a cycling trip. The Bělásek educational trail is particularly interesting for families, while buildings of cultural and historical significance and memorial sites offer another way to discover the surrounding area.

Educational Trail, Cycling Route and Water

The Bělásek educational trail is approximately 6 km long and has nine information boards. It also includes three educational features for children. This combination makes the trail an opportunity to combine a manageable hike with informative stops and specially designated features for young visitors. You therefore get more than just a route length: there are several different ways to engage with the trail.

The “Skrz Maló Hanó” cycling route is approximately 21 km long and passes through Bělá u Jevíčka. The village is a hub on the route.

Another special feature is the small Smolná water reservoir. It is used as a natural outdoor swimming pool and adds an experience by the water to the available activities. In addition to the educational trail and cycling, quiet moments by the water therefore form a distinct aspect of a stay here. This does not imply anything about facilities or opening hours.

Pilgrimage Traditions, Monuments and Notable Buildings

The local pilgrimage tradition includes a mass at the Church of St Bartholomew. This religious connection is an important part of the village’s identity and gives a visit a cultural dimension alongside the landscape and outdoor activities. The village also has a monument to the victims of the First World War.

The sanatorium complex has been protected as a cultural monument since 1 April 2016. Its registration number is 105817. This specific protection classification sets the complex apart from an ordinary everyday view of the village and makes it a subject in its own right for visitors interested in architectural and cultural history.

A particularly detailed historical artefact is the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. In 1846, the married couple Vavřinec and Anna Maria Knödlovi had it brought from Prague and erected in front of their house, No. 10. The pedestal has volute wings and bears a relief depicting the saint’s fall into the Vltava. Its origin, date, location and design make the statue a specific individual point of interest within the local history.

The chapels also differ markedly from one another. The small chapel with a bell tower in Malonín stands by farmstead No. 124, is designed in the Secession style and dates from 1903. In Smolná, by contrast, the chapel with a bell tower has a square floor plan and was built in 1904. Together with the adjacent fire station, it forms a landmark of Smolná.
