Churches and Chapels with Their Own History

The Church of St Bartholomew is the oldest building in the municipality of Poříčí u Litomyšle. Part of the church displays Romanesque features and was built around 1250. The parish Church of St Bartholomew is located in Mladočov, a district of Poříčí u Litomyšle. This means that a visit can also be combined with a look at the local settlement structure.

The Chapel of St John Nepomuk was originally built in the middle of the 18th century. In 1994, it was moved farther from the road, rotated 90 degrees and restored to its original form. The Chapel of St Wenceslas stands in Zrnětín. It was built in 1892 and consecrated to Saint Wenceslas on 28 September of the same year. Another historical connection leads to Matěj Abrahám, a farmer and judge from Poříčí. He was an ideological leader of the peasant uprising in the Litomyšl region. This historical connection complements the sacred buildings with an insight into the regional history of the peasant uprising.

The Kolem Štimberka Nature Trail

The Kolem Štimberka Nature Trail runs for approximately 4.8 km through the natural landscape of Poříčí u Litomyšle. Ten stations with information panels describe and illustrate local points of interest.
