Trusnov – Nature and Rural Culture

The protected area consists of an east-facing marl slope with remnants of the formerly abundant population of fringed gentian, as well as other thermophilic and calciphilous plant species. Stráň u Trusnova is designated as a natural monument and protects a habitat for endangered plant species. Its special character therefore lies in the combination of a geological slope formation, heat-loving vegetation and an expressly protected plant habitat.

South of Trusnov, the Loučná flows through Opočno, a locality within the municipality of Trusnov. This geographical connection adds a river to the landscape and shows that, alongside ponds and slopes, the municipality also includes a watercourse.
