Settlement of the area around Trnávka began in the 10th century. The oldest surviving written mention of Trnávka dates from 1333. The village was originally called Tyrnov; the present name Trnávka became established from the second half of the 16th century onward. This sequence gives the village's history a clear chronological depth that can be followed on a walk in thought from the early Middle Ages to its present-day name.

An important point of reference is the Protestant church in Trnávka. It was opened on May 22, 1884, and still serves its religious purpose today. The present church replaced a stone toleration church dating from 1797. Behind the church is the Protestant cemetery, which was established in 1789 and expanded in 1854. This makes it possible to consider the history of the church building and the development of the cemetery together on a historically focused walk, without having to change locations.

Cycle Route No. 24 runs in the vicinity of Trnávka. A green-marked hiking trail also leads through the nearby area. At Trnávka Pond, the Rybářský spolek Trnávka offers fishing permits.
