Discover Spojil: Circular Trail, Apolenka and Village Square

Spojil combines a varied circular trail with rural discoveries, a village square steeped in history and the publicly accessible Statek Apolenka. The Sportovní areál in Spojil is a multifunctional sports and cultural facility for the local population and the general public. The place is particularly interesting for you if you would like to combine active trails, animals, regional products and small cultural stops in one excursion. Circular trail between forest, village and natural monument

The Okruh Spojil is 6.5 kilometres long and runs mainly along unpaved paths and asphalt roads. The route begins near the Apolenka farm and leads along forest paths to the edge of Spojil. The route passes the Vesecký kopec natural monument, known for its protected plants and interesting terrain. The circular trail therefore offers a range of impressions: forest sections, open stretches of path and a specially protected natural area.

The path can be continued through the centre of the village via K Hájovně Street. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands there. A cycling or hiking route connects Černá za Bory via Spojil and Sezemice with Pardubice or with Kunětická hora. Those planning longer active days therefore have not only a single local loop, but also a documented connection between several destinations.

Apolenka: Animals, playground and dairy products

Statek Apolenka is open to the public every day. Visitors can see common farm animals such as horses, cows and sheep, as well as exotic animals such as llamas, ostriches and coatis. The children's playground at Statek Apolenka in Spojil is available to all visitors.

A distinctive feature of the area is also Apolenka's dairy. It produces and sells milk, cheese, kefir, yoghurt and whey drinks from high-quality cow's milk. Those who would like to include regional food in an excursion will find a direct connection here to Spojil's agricultural surroundings.

Village square, former ponds and local history

Two large stones on the village square commemorate the former Spojil and Strejček ponds. Spojil was established towards the end of the 18th century on the site of the former Spojil and Strejček ponds. There are also two commemorative lime trees on the square: one dates from 1946 and the younger one from 2008. Together with the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, they form several easily recognisable points of interest in the village centre.

The nearby forest invites visitors to go for walks and pick mushrooms. A tourist brochure had already listed Spojil in 2000 as a destination for excursions and pleasant walks. The children's cycling race “Spojilská míle pro Mílu” was held for the fifth time in 2020 and had also taken place in the four preceding years. According to the plans at the time, Spojilské posvícení was intended to be an annual local festival in 2017.

Bus line 9 from Pardubice has served Spojil since 1992 and was still in operation at the time of documentation.
