Zámrsky: History, Landscape and Cycling Routes

Zámrsky combines a distinctive settlement form, historically developed religious buildings and several signposted cycling connections. The village lies at the last foothills of the Carpathians, heading towards the Bečva River. Landscape and Village Character

The original buildings of Zámrsky form a horseshoe-shaped settlement structure. The later-developed Komanica district is separated by the Hať stream. This makes it possible to trace the development of the village not only through individual buildings, but also through its layout. The Doubek nature reserve protects a mixed deciduous forest with rare plant species and adds a distinctive natural aspect to the landscape character.

Traces from Many Centuries

The first written mention of Zámrsky dates from 1131 and names the place Zamricc. One visible historical landmark is the Chapel of Our Lady of Hostýn in Zámrsky. It was built in 1867 and renovated in 1930; the original sheet-metal bell is currently hanging in the chapel. The more recent history of the village can also be traced through its religious buildings: the plot for the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas was blessed by Father František Král on 29 July 2001, the bells were blessed on 15 September 2002, and construction work was completed on 27 September 2002.

Another memorial site is the war memorial in Zámrsky, erected in 1916. Its granite plaque bears the names of 20 fallen, deceased and missing people. The former Kamenec manorial farm also belongs to the cadastral area of Zámrsky. A village of the same name with a knight's residence formerly stood there. A multi-purpose sports field and the associated facilities can be reserved at the Luže sports complex.

The signposted long-distance cycling route Jantarová stezka passes through Zámrsky. The Greenways C1 stage “Castles and Historic Cities” also runs through the village. The “Po stopách větrných mlýnů” cycling route is part of the local cycling route network. Getting There and Finding Your Way

Zámrsky can be reached via road 4395 from Hranice, continuing through the village towards Němetice and Kelč. In addition, the Hranice–Kelč–Dolní Těšice bus route runs through Zámrsky in both directions.
