Luběnice – Village Square, Landscape and Culture

The oldest part of Luběnice is the village square, with its typical row-style buildings. Standing at the center of the village square is the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, dating from the 18th century. It was reconstructed and reconsecrated in 2000. Directly beside the chapel is a statue of the Madonna and Child from 1899.

The birthplace of Josef Sekanina, house number 49, is also among the locally significant cultural heritage sites. Behind Luběnice, a stone cross stands beside a field path leading to Těšetice.

The area behind the cultural center has a mini-golf course, adding an independent leisure activity to the cultural events. Every year, the municipality, local associations and other organizations hold several cultural events. These include the erection and felling of the maypole, as well as a Christmas market. On June 11, 2026, the Municipality of Luběnice also published the program for the 2026 summer cinema in Luběnice. The maypole ritual and the Christmas market each bring a different emphasis to the local annual calendar. The summer cinema complements the traditional events with a cultural offering for the warmer season.
