Discover Hradec-Nová Ves

Hradec-Nová Ves Between History and Landscape

Hradec-Nová Ves lies on the left bank of the Bělá, with forests extending throughout the surrounding area. There is also a fire brigade museum, a rebuilt chapel, a peace monument, a long-distance cycling route, a green-marked hiking trail and a multi-purpose sports field. This gives you various ways to experience the town: you can explore local history, follow routes on foot or by bicycle and plan sporting activities. The riverside location and forests complement the historical sites with a natural setting. For your planning, this means you can combine a culturally focused visit with a route or a sports session.

Fire Brigade History at the Hasičské minimuzeum

The Hasičské minimuzeum offers a special way to explore the town’s history. It was established in 2008 with the support of the Olomoucký kraj in former fire station No. 48 in Hradec. On display are a 1955 PRAGA RN fire engine and the motor-driven DS 16 and PS 8 pumps. Information panels cover the development of firefighting technology, the history of the local fire brigade, the principles of firefighting, the traditions of Saint Florian as the patron saint of firefighters and the history of the municipality. The exhibition therefore combines technological development with local and fire brigade history. The vehicle and pumps are not presented in isolation, as the panels place them in the context of technological and local developments. The space thus combines tangible exhibits with background information about the municipality.

Historical Traces in the Town

The Chapel of Saint Anne was rebuilt in 1870 after the former chapel burned down in 1865. The peace monument bearing the inscription “Památník míru 1945–1960” stands in Hradec-Nová Ves at a bus stop. Beneath the house where remains of a former fortification were discovered, there is a medieval cellar; its date of origin cannot be determined. These examples highlight different aspects: rebuilding, commemoration and a historical find with an undetermined date.

Cycling, Hiking and Sport

The Moravská stezka long-distance cycling route runs through Hradec-Nová Ves. On the Jeseníky section of the Moravská stezka, Hradec-Nová Ves lies between Mikulovice and Písečná. A green-marked hiking trail for walks and hikes runs through the northern part of Nová Ves in Hradec-Nová Ves. Cycling and hiking are therefore represented by their own clearly described routes. The two types of route have different focuses: the Moravská stezka places the town on a long-distance cycling route, while the green trail runs through the northern part of the town. This makes it easier to choose between a cycling day and a hiking day.

The multi-purpose sports field is intended for group sporting activities and ball games such as Nohejbal, volleyball, small-sided football, tennis, badminton, basketball and soft tennis. It is freely accessible every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is closed in winter. The fixed opening hours and winter closure are relevant for planning your day.

The Hasičské minimuzeum can be visited by prior telephone appointment at 584 423 086. If you plan to include this historical attraction, the telephone appointment must therefore be made before your visit.
