Discover Haňovice

Haňovice combines a distinctive landscape with local history, sacred architecture and community events. Haňovice lies on the right edge of the Morava floodplain below the summit of Rampach, which forms part of the Zábřeh Highlands. The Bouzov Highlands also begin on the western side of Haňovice. Despite later alterations, Haňovice Chateau retains a Renaissance portal, heraldic panels and several vaulted spaces inside. The sacred architecture includes the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius. It is a freestanding single-nave building with a polygonal presbytery. In front of the chapel stands a stone cross with a Calvary group. Haňovice also has a memorial to the victims of the First World War.

Archaeological finds demonstrate human activity in Haňovice and the surrounding area as early as the Late Stone Age. Early medieval finds suggest that iron ore was probably processed in Haňovice in the 10th century. Both indications add a longer historical perspective to the visible buildings: the village is interesting not only for individual historic structures but also for traces of earlier human use.

Local events and products

The Haňovský košt reached its 17th edition in 2026. The event thus represents a local tradition that extends beyond a single visit to historic buildings. The 2026 Myslivecký den in Haňovice included clay pigeon shooting and provided another event highlight. A direct connection to local production is offered by the ZD Haňovice farm shop, where tomatoes from the Haňovice greenhouses are sold.
