Kujavy – Educational Trail, Culture and Landscape

Kujavy combines a manageable nature excursion with remarkable traces of the village’s history. At its centre is the “Kujavská stezka poznání”, a 4 km educational trail with a walking time of around 60 minutes. Educational Trail and Landscape along the Děrenský potok

The Děrenský potok forms the central axis of the municipality of Kujavy and lies near the Poodří Protected Landscape Area. This landscape is complemented by the “Alej svobody´23”, a symbolic group of trees consisting of 97 pear trees and 28 oak trees. Another way to explore the local natural environment is provided by the Kujavy plant herbarium, which records nearly all the plant species that can be seen here.

The primary school building is also part of the historic village landscape. It was built in 1821 and has served as a school since its construction. Two stone crosses provide further points of interest in the surrounding area. One was restored with a new pedestal and ceremonially consecrated in 2005. Another stands on the boundary between Kujavy and Stachovice beside a solitary chestnut tree. Cyclists can also include Kujavy in a longer excursion. The 37 km cycling route “K Bíloveckému větrnému mlýnu” leads to Kujavy as its fourth stop, at the Church of Saint Michael. The church is therefore a cultural point of interest along the cycling route, while the educational trail offers a shorter, self-contained way to explore the village.

The local character also includes joint events organised by the municipality and local associations, including Village Day. The “Kujavský gulášfest” is a publicly announced culinary festival; the municipality invited people to its third edition. Such events complement the historical and landscape themes with a local festival tradition, without defining Kujavy through a single travel experience.
