The volunteer fire brigade of Svijanský Újezd dates back to 1889. It actively participates in representing the municipality and helps organise cultural and social events. The local festival tradition also includes the municipality’s intention to build on the tradition of Slavnosti svijanského piva and to hold new “Újezdské slavnosti” on a smaller, more modest scale. Club life and community events are therefore also part of the town’s history and public life.
