Discover Puletschnei: Hiking, Culture and Cross-Country Skiing

Puletschnei is a destination for travellers who want to combine observing nature, marked trails and traces of history and culture. Pulečný was first mentioned in a document in 1543. Even today, you can observe bullheads (Cottus gobio) in the stream flowing through Pulečný. The history of the locality thus extends from the historic document to the present-day landscape.

Hiking between the educational trail and far-reaching views

The Scheybal educational trail leads through Pulečný and comprises 17 stations. They are dedicated to important monuments, historical stories or natural attractions. The statue of Saint Anne stands along the Scheybal Trail; it was restored in 2019 and consecrated in spring 2020. For a hike with specific stopping points, the educational trail thus combines culture and nature.

The Kopanina lookout tower can also be reached on foot from Pulečný via marked hiking trails. The lookout tower is a brick tower dating from 1894. From there, the view extends over Hruboskalsko, the ruins of Trosky, Turnov, Ještěd, the Krkonoše Mountains and Kozákov. The route can therefore be combined with expansive views of the landscape.

Sacred landmarks in Pulečný

The chapel in Pulečný dates from 1934 and was thoroughly reconstructed in 2012. Pilgrimage masses and Advent celebrations are held there. The smaller monuments include the boží muka in Pulečný. The column-shaped wayside shrine has a niche and a gilded Latin cross; since 22 April 2025, the boží muka have been protected as a cultural monument.

In the southern part of Pulečný, east of a local road, stands the cross by house no. 23. Joseph Pietsch from Pulečný had it erected in 1828. The Pietà ensemble is located at the upper edge of the settlement beside the road from Klíčnov to Pulečný. Its reliefs depict Saint Joseph, Saint Anne and Saint Joachim; the shaft is dated 1795.

The stone boží muka at the intersection of Zálesí and Smetanova streets bear the names “Sloup sv. Prokopa” and “Morový sloup”.

Mountains and churches in the surrounding area

The area around Pulečný also offers various starting points for an excursion. Maršovicky vrch is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of Pulečný. Černá Studnice, Pustina and Mariánská hora are also mountains located around Pulečný. Winter routes and gentle slopes

There is also a specific route idea for a winter day. A cross-country skiing loop of approximately 30 kilometres leads from Huntířov via Maršovice, Dalešice and Pulečný back to Huntířov. The surrounding terrain in Pulečný is particularly suitable for skiing by children and beginners because of its gentle slopes. Depending on the season, hiking, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing are therefore available as different options.
