Lischnei

Lischnei combines sacred culture, paths along the Jizera and its location in Maloskalsko Nature Park. For a stay catering to different interests, historical features, an annual event and several forms of transport are all close together here. This makes it possible to discover the locality through both its small monuments and its cycling and walking routes.

Culture and Local Features

A prominent cultural landmark is the Calvary near the Líšný railway stop. It is considered a unique example of small-scale sacred sandstone architecture. The originally polychrome complex consists of a cross and figures of the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist. Its creation is dated to 1807.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk also represents the religious architectural history of the locality. The late Baroque chapel was consecrated in 1777. A yellow hiking trail from Líšný to Železný Brod runs directly beside it. Those wishing to combine culture and activity will therefore find a specific route here that passes a historic building, without having to consider the two experiences separately.

Another visible memorial site is the cast-iron cross in Líšný with the Corpus Christi. It stands on a stone sandstone pedestal whose reliefs depict the Virgin Mary, Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Joseph. The cross was created in 1842 at the expense of Josef and Antonín Novotný from Líšný. The municipal cemetery also contains a monument to the victims of the First World War, erected in 1922, which today forms the cemetery’s central landmark.

Natural Area and Routes along the Jizera

Líšný is part of Maloskalsko Nature Park, designated in 1997, and has belonged to the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area since 2002. These two designations describe the protected landscape setting in which the locality lies. For active exploration, the Greenway Jizera cycle path runs through Líšný. Marked cycle route No. 17, also called Greenway Jizera, also follows the Jizera.

Route No. 17 can be used by bicycle, on inline skates or by kick scooter, as well as on foot. Some sections can also be travelled by boat. In addition, Galerka Líšný offers boat rental on the Jizera and kick-scooter rental. Its services also include a bistro, a small gallery and affordable accommodation.

A Stay with Special Dates

The local events calendar includes Líšný OPEN, a pétanque tournament for teams of three held annually at the beginning of August. The event provides a seasonal highlight, while the historic buildings and the routes along the Jizera remain concrete themes for exploring the locality regardless of it. Another date from the locality’s history is 1 June 1924: the Líšný railway stop opened on that day.

For further orientation in the overview of the locality, you will also find Radl, Drschke, Sassadel, Johannesberg I. Isergebirge, Pintschei, Wiesenthal An Der Neiße, Friedstein and Großhammer.
